According to a Today.ng report, former President Obasanjo and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu had an altercation on Wednesday in Abuja during the book launch of the former ICPC chairman.

The oba has accused Obasanjo of being an enemy of Lagos state and concealing the records of Nigeria’s oil sales as he had promised before assuming office.

The Lagos monarch said that despite criticizing the government before him, OBJ also failed to disclose Nigeria’s crude oil sales when he came to power.

He accused Obasanjo of sidelining Lagos during his rule, denying it of statutory allocations and swore that PDP would never rule Lagos again.

Obasanjo countered by saying that his government was the only one that disclosed revenue allocations from Federal to Local government levels and established Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) to review the secrecy in the country’s mineral resources sector.

He said that he had no regrets for withholding the allocations of Lagos state. He said Lagos was wrong for creating new local governments outside of constitutional provisions.
