Leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun on Monday at a stakeholders meeting in Abeokuta adopted the state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun for a second term.

A motion for the endorsement of Amosun for a second term, moved by a member of the state House of Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo was seconded by Mr Babatunde Isola, a cheiftain of the party.

Another party Chieftain, Sen. Biyi Durojaiye, who was called to seal the endorsement, however, declined on the ground of legality of the process.

He insisted that the gathering was not constitutionally empowered to make such endorsement, and stressed that due process must be followed before Amosun's endorsement.

The process was however, concluded through a voice vote conducted by a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Tunji Egbetokun.

Amosun, who spoke afterwards, corroborated Durojaiye’ assertion, and also called for a restraint over the endorsement process.

Amosun, who did not reject the endorsement, expressed the belief that the people of the state reserved the right to choose who so ever would govern them in 2015.
