First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has urged Rivers people to vote for her husband, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidates in the general elections in February.
She made the plea during PDP’s governorship campaign in Okrika, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers on Thursday.
She said the President had built a bridge to link Okrika with Port Harcourt and that he would consolidate on the Transformation Agenda of his administration if re-elected.
Jonathan also urged Rivers people to vote for Mr Nyesom Wike, the PDP governorship candidate, to transform the state.
''All Okrika indigenes should vote Wike and the PDP because it is the best option for Rivers state. Everybody should ensure violence-free elections next month.
''Wike is the next governor of Rivers state; with the help of God. Wike will work with President Jonathan to bring development to Okrika and Rivers state’’, she said.
On his part, Wike said President Jonathan had done so much for the state.
He said Jonathan approved Special Intervention Funds for some state owned tertiary institutions to build and or modernise infrastructure. Wike said he would not demolish water front shanties but would sand fill some communities in Okrika local government area if elected.
