Patricia Etteh, former speaker of the house of representatives has defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC; VANGUARD reports.
Etteh defected on Tuesday during the APC campaign rally in Osun state.
Addressing the crowd during her defection, Etteh said she decided to join the APC because of the party’s progressive policies and the love for the masses, saying that her decision was to join the progressives so that she will be able to contribute her quota to the development of the people.
Etteh was removed as speaker of the house of representatives after an accusation of N628million illegal spending was leveled against her.
