The 2015 Aspirant Form of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state yesterday asked their party's leadership to stick to the party's constitution in admitting new or defected members into the party.

Vice Chairman of the forum, Tolu Babaleye, said the aspirants forum welcomed the state governor's joining their party.

Babaleye said: “we are not against the defection of Governor Mimiko into our party but we members of the PDP aspirants forum 2015 resolved that Governor Mimiko and his followers defection should be done in accordance with the provision of the constitution of our great party as laid down in chapter two, part one sub-section 2 to 11 of the constitution. ”

He explained that the constitution stipulated that whoever wants to join or defect to the party should join at the ward level and must be issued with the party card duly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the ward.

He also noted that all these processes must be done within 30 days before the congress of the party, saying the party register has been closed before Mimiko and his supporters joined the party.
