The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has dissociated itself from a statement by Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose calling for the sack of Prof. Attahiru Jega, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Speaking on behalf of the PDP, Deputy National Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Sedondus, said, ''We are not fighting Jega. The opinion expressed by the governor of Ekiti State on the INEC chairman remains his own. He’s not speaking for the party''.
'' There is no plan to remove Jega. The party “has absolute confidence in INEC and its leadership''.
