Joe Onyewelu, the South-South Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has said that the party will re-capture Rivers and Edo states in the 2015 general elections.

Onyewelu said this at the PDP National Chairman's Tour of the South- South Zone in Calabar on Tuesday.

He said the two South-South states; Edo and Rivers currently governed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), will return to the PDP in 2015.

According to him, the APC is only occupying Rivers and Edo Government Houses on a temporary basis and will be taken over by the PDP in 2015.

"The South-South zone is in total support of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation leadership; this has been made clear in stability, rule of law and infrastructure development. The commitment of the South-South governors to our great party is very strong, and we must make sure that Goodluck is re-elected in 2015’’, he said.

He commended the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu for bringing sanity to the party.
Onyewelu said that the good fortunes of the party had been duplicated and restored since the national chairman assumed office.

He also declared support for President Jonathan's second term and charged the national chairman of the party to ensure that Jonathan was re-elected in 2015.
