Sports Replacement for Moyes: Van Gaal,Mourinho and Simeone all in the mix

Having successfully dispensed with the services of David Moyes, the Manchester United hierarchy are now saddled with the daunting task of replacing him with an elite coach to lead the club charges going forward next season.

A global brand and one that has huge allure and appeal to sponsors,Manchester United would certainly be moving for a coach with a proven pedigree, one that has a good track record of success,as they are still reeling from the experiential time with Moyes.

Identifying that person is difficult as it looks like most of the top coaches are occupied with various duties elsewhere.

Both Jurgen Klopp of Borussia Dortmund and Pep Guardiola of Bayern Munich, today ruled themselves out of running to coach United, which now narrows their options to a limited few.

Ryan Giggs has been installed on the interim basis, but it is difficult at this stage seeing him keep the job on a permanent basis.

Made more difficult by his limited coaching experiences, would be better served being an understudy at this stage.

Below we try to examine some of the coaches whom the club would possibly be looking at to take over the reins next season.

Louis Van Gaal:

Feelers and pundits have him as the next coach of Manchester United. The Dutch national team coach will be stepping down after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was believed to be on his way to Tottenham Hotspurs in the summer, but suddenly made a U-turn after he was notified that the United job will be available.

In experiences,he has it in quantum, having won the league titles in Holland,Germany and Spain which stands him in good stead.

Apparently his availability and willingness to manage United made him the front runner for the job.

He is also a team builder and his relationship with Robin Van Persie(Dutch national team striker) could be pivotal for him.

Jose Mourinho:

Yes Jose Mourinho! The Portuguese was heavily linked with the job last summer, before Moyes landed it.

Never hid his admiration and zeal to coach Manchester United, even some people argued that he cried when he was not given the job.

He has to be a contender for the post this time around, and might just be favoured now to get the plum job.

Well everything boils down to his situation at Chelsea come the end of this season.

If they fail to win a single trophy at the end of the season, would Roman Abramovich press the panic button and sack him for the second time in six years?

Chelsea seems to have lost the Premier League title race, being five points behind Liverpool with three more games to go.

They have a Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid, which Mourinho would be fighting with his all to win.

There is a possibility that Mourinho could be available at the end of the season, and he might just end up at United in July.

Diego Simeone

One of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment,Diego Simeone has proven what a master tactician he has become.

The Argentine has revolutionized Atletico to a team now being dreaded by others. Working with a lesser budget to that of Real Madrid and Barcelona,it will be very remarkable if he ends up winning the La Liga above them.

Just three more wins, and they are Spanish champions. The number of trophies they have won in the last four three years has doubled what they have done in over a decade and credit to Simeone.

No doubt he fits the bill of what Manchester United are looking for,a proven winner that could lead them on to greater successes.

Simeone's stock will rise,if his troops overpowers Chelsea in their Champions League game at the Vicente Calderon.

Not to think of he succeeds in leading Atletico do the double, not unthinkable as they are just six wins of doing it.

But United would be wary of his greatest problem, language barrier, communication would be difficult for him which could be a major problem in giving him the job.

However,he has shown that on a big stage,he has the nous of even treading in the proverbial Lion's den.

Whoever Manchester United settles for,it will be a huge call, and expectations would be high even before the first ball is kicked.

It is a tough job in the world, but it is equally one that most top managers in the world crave for.
