The Rivers state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has accused Governor Rotimi Amaechi of trying to bribe the party into denying, Nyesom Wike the party's governorship ticket in 2015.
DAILY POST reported that State Secretary of the PDP, Ibiba Walter made the accusation while addressing a gathering on voter sensitization in the state.
Walter said that Amaechi had gone as far as holding secret meetings with the National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Mu’azu .
"Why are they concentrating on who will become Governor of Rivers State for example?"
"You are wasting your time talking about Nyesom Wike for instance. The Governor has gone several places and even met our National Chairman asking him to drop Nyesom Wike, who has not even emerged and that he (Amaechi) is going to spend 6 billion naira on PDP.
"Give him Senatorial ticket and he will bring 10 billion naira to sponsor PDP. But you are in APC. Concern yourself with what is happening in APC.
"Go and contest your election in APC. Produce your governorship candidate in APC and let him meet the one that will be produced by the PDP.
"Luckily, if it is Nyesom Wike, it is going to be a tornado. It is going to be a cyclone, it is going to be a sweeping landslide victory”, Walter said.
