Everton have reportedly agreed a £25million deal with Chelsea for the permanent transfer of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku spent last season on loan with the Toffees after having an impressive campaign that saw Everton finish fifth and qualify for Europe.

With Jose Mourinho showing no inkling that he reckons with the talents of Lukaku, the striker has now been released to move out of Chelsea.

On Wednesday Lukaku took to the social media,Twitter posting a picture of himself seated on a jet, giving a thumbs-up,saying: "Time to write a new chapter."

Speaking to talkSPORT about a deal for Lukaku last week,Everon manager Roberto Martinez said: "Rom fits in really, really well at Goodison."

"We created a fantastic bond with the player, and the player with the fans, and that is something that we would love to extend."

Lukaku scored 15 goals in 31 appearances for Everton last season.
