Nigerian midfielder Hope Akpan has been ruled out of action for the next two weeks.
The Reading FC player was taken off injured in Nigeria's 2-0 victory over Congo on Saturday in the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers, after he dislocated his shoulder.
Upon arrival in Nigeria, Akpan was conveyed in a special ambulance to the Government House Clinic for an X-ray.
And the Team doctor of the Super Eagles Ibrahim Gyaran confirmed that Akpan will be out for a forthnight.
“Though the injury is not too serious, it will take him at least two weeks to recover, including the rehabilitation period before returning to action,’’ Gyaran told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN).
He will now miss the game against South Africa on Wednesday.
