Metro Teenagers Land in Lagos Court for Allegedly Terrorising & Robbing People With Toy Guns

Deji William and Ahmed Balogun, both 18, on Thursday appeared before a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos charged with robbing with toy guns.

They are reportedly facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and causing terror while armed with offensive weapon.

The prosecutor, ASP Chidi Okoye, said the accused terrorised and dispossessed persons of their valuables while armed with toy guns on April 21 around 3.15 p.m. at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

He said the men were apprehended by a police patrol team which responded to a distress call.

Okoye said that the offences contravened Sections 51 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011, which prescribes two years imprisonment for offenders if found guilty.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Ms Abimbola Awogboro, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to May 20 for mention.
