Cameroonian soldiers have said that while they are killing 'loads'of Boko Haram terrorists, their numbers don't seem to be dwindling, and they suspect that the terrorists are massively recruiting to fill their depleting ranks.
"We don't doubt that Boko Haram is recruiting in Cameroon," Col. Joseph Nouma, the ALPHA Operation commander said. ALPHA is a special military operation set up by the Cameroonian government to help Nigeria in the fight against terror.
He said that Nigerian communities in the North are suspiciously lacking in men aged 10-45 as "many of them are found across the border in Nigeria, training with the terrorists."
This poses a problem: nobody really knows the military strength of the terrorist sect and Nouma suspects that the terrorists may be more in number than people currently believe.
"Boko Haram is a permanent metamorphosis, dying every day but recruiting every day as well," says Col. Jacob Kodji, interim commander of the 4th Military Region. "And this complicates a lot of things for us."
Nouma agreed: "We kill them, but they keep on coming."
