The 24-year old, whose deal to move to the Spanish capital failed on transfer deadline date has not featured for the Red Devils, and the shotstopper alongside, 19-year old Martial have been included in the list.

The goalkeeper was set to move to the Primera Division club on transfer deadline day in Spain, with United agreeing to a £29 million fee plus the signing of Keylor Navas, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

Victor Valdes, however, is left out of the selection, with summer signing Sergio Romero and 22-year-old Sam Johnstone chosen to provide competition for De Gea.

Van Gaal has also handed opportunities to a number of young players, with Guillermo Varela, Paddy McNair, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira all named in the squad.
