Sports Vincent Enyeama misses out on 5-man shortlist for the best goalkeeper in the world

Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been overlooked in the five-man shortlist for the best goalkeeper in the world.

The 32-year old Nigerian skipper was not considered to be in the FIFA FIFPro list released on Monday.

Enyeama has had an impressive 2014, ending the season in France with 21 clean sheets, and also playing an instrumental role for the Super Eagles at the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.

The five goalkeepers on the shortlist to find the best goalkeeper for the outgoing year are:

Manuel Neuer (Germany / Bayern Munich), Claudio Bravo (Chile / Barcelona), Thibaut Courtois (Belgium / Chelsea), Iker Casillas (Spain / Real Madrid), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy / Juventus).

The best goalkeeper will be included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI, the world football team of the year.

I think his greatest undoing why he is not on the shortlist has to be his club..... not being at a glamourous club like the five nominated goalkeepers, and also the fact that he came from a certain country.... Nigeria.
