According to the governor Idris Wada of Kogi state has rubbished rumours saying his administration is planning to stop payment of West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees for all senior secondary III students in the state.
He said his administration is trying to get the accurate number of candidates sitting for the examination, "because of the disturbing inflation in the number of students over the past two years."
"I am sure all parents would appreciate the need for our limited resources to be spent appropriately on genuine beneficiaries of the WAEC fees subsidy. We will not spare anyone who indulges in this fraudulent act. I urge parents to come forward with the receipt of payment so that government can refund their money," he said.
