Sports We hope to be different - NFF Acting President

Umeh.JPG Acting President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Chief Mike Okeke Umeh has promised to run a transparent administration that will help re-position the country's football.

Only last week,Aminu Maigari was impeached by the executive board members of the NFF with a vote of no confidence passed on the Bauchi state born administrator,as he was alleged to have run the football body in a secretive and cabal-like manner.

But Umeh who will be the acting chairman of the NFF until the next congress on August 26,promised that they will not sideline anybody.

“We hope to be different,” Umeh told Vanguard Sports. “We will be having regular executive committee meetings, unlike in the past where few people took decisions for the rest of the members.”

Umeh also slightly aimed a dig at the impeached Maigari, adding the present NFF board will not spend any money without going through due process.

“We cannot spend money that cannot be verified. We can only spend money that would be collectively approved and everybody would be allowed to carry out his functions,”he added.
