Sports Super Eagles will beat Sudan - Samson Siasia

Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia is optimistic that Nigeria will beat Sudan in their 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers this weekend.

Nigeria will this weekend in Khartoum, face Sudan in a must win encounter, before coming back to Nigeria to host the return fixture.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria(NFF)Siasia said that the enormity of the task would encourage the technical crew and the players to raise their games.

“I believe the players and officials know what is at stake. I am also happy that the Nigeria Football Federation has settled down after the election, so efforts will be geared toward winning the match,’’ he said.

He noted that the Eagles had the potential to win and urged the team to work extra hard to get the three points at stake.

“I believe that there is nothing impossible as far as the Super Eagles are concerned because most times, we come in from a difficult terrain and then see ourselves through.

“We want to believe that such will also be our portion this time. But, all of us really have to work together. The NFF, the technical crew and the players really have to work together to achieve this feat,’’ the coach said.

Whose side is Sis one sef? today he will say this tomorrow that.... I understand he wants Keshi's job, but since he lost the job he actually has not done anything to improve himself or even coach any club or country...... for me, Siasia is not even on the list of coaches to be considered for the national team.

It is both sides of the coin for him. If Keshi steps aside after the Sudan tie as has been widely rumored, and Siasia takes over, his hopes will be for Nigeria to qualify for the Nations Cup.... don't you think he would want Nigeria to qualify? Sudan losing does not in anyway favour him.

My issue with him is when he lost the Eagles job back then, he don't coach any team nor take up any coaching course that I knew off, and he wants to come back......... whats his recent coaching record? None...........

He has been on refresher courses since then. He might have been idle, coaching wise, but it doesn't mean that he will automatically lose his skill as a coach.
