Sports Some people are plotting for my downfall - Stephen Keshi

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has sensationally claimed that some people are working against him to stop him from succeeding.

Keshi claimed that there are people who are bent on seeing him fail and have gone as far as putting pitfalls for him.

Nigeria is languishing at the bottom of group A and are now in danger of not qualifying for the 2015 African Cup of Nation, and Keshi has attributed his team's poor displays on certain people who hate him.

With many believing that some of the players no longer play with their hearts for Keshi, the 52-year old corroborated that,as he is now suspecting some of them for not being dedicated to his cause any longer.

“There is sabotage from within,” Keshi said. “Some people just don’t give a damn about this country. They are ready to go the extra mile to see Keshi fails.”

“It’s not about me, it should be the country first.”

"Some people are ready to sell this country for a dime. They don’t want this team to get to the AFCON. But they're not God."

“I am disappointed in the attitude of some people who are hell bent on wanting me to fail without considering the interest of Nigeria as a nation.

“And this is not Keshi’s team. This is a national team. Keshi is a professional coach and after this (assignment), he will get another job elsewhere.”

Keshi, please don't annoy me this afternoon. So it is these people who are against you that dictated the strategy, game-plan and formation that you've been using bah? Please... Please... please
