I think the army didn't handle the situation well. They should have learned from the Book Haram eruption and avoid all these. May Godhelp Nigeria.

I think there are also some underlining factors and facts yet to surface in this Shi'ite issue. Only time will tell and unfold details to Nigerians.

Desperate times requires desperate measures, it's rather unfortunate that this is happening at all, but I have it on good authority that Buratai actually came down from his car and begged them on his way to the Emire's palace but he was forced to take another route.
Only God knows what actually transpired between those two, but the shi'ites sect lack of respect, and ruthless behaviors is well known to Muslims, which also goes against every teachings of Islam.

@ismail ibrahim - I think it does not help now to point fingers at all members of a sect. I am not a Muslim, so I bow to your superior insight if you are, but are all violent groups who claim to follow the teachings of Islam Shi'ites?

In my defense, I would say yes, which is based on reasons best known to me, but to cut the whole story short, out of the 70 components of Muslim faith listed, the least of them is " doing away with something that will harm others on the road" Which doesn't quite fit in with there behavior, because I have witnessed first hand what they do.
Nonetheless, there is individual differences, practically, people even practice most religions without knowing the actual content of their respective scriptures.
I am not saying what the Army did was the best, but they should also know better than to poke the bear.

Reminds me of conversations one has with Catholics when we talk about corruption in the church and they will point fingers at the Pentecostal churches without really understanding the history of the Catholic church.
But do Boko Haram or ISIL claim to follow the Shi'ite interpretation of Islam?

Yes, there compulsion to the fact that everyone most practice islam which is a clear contradiction to the Qur’an
No compulsion in religion (2:256)" and many more examples

hmmmmmmm na wa which can religion be this, cosing problem all over the world, even now that una broda dey for power, muslim izara , go dey fight shiite or derica, nigeria army no send una, nosence.

Is not the religion, it's it individuals and I believe we are all matured and educated enough to know that the mistakes of people has nothing to do with their religious background.
Every religion has its problems
