NB Weekly 16 - Child Conductors: Lagos Forgotten Children

The government cannot be responsible for everything, but they can help by delegating counsellors to gather and advise people in villages and towns to PLEASE stop having loads of children they cannot fend for (especially the women). Parenthood in Nigeria has become a huge issue in the face of a large population of poor and uneducated people who insist on pushing their children to go fend for themselves and live hard too early, and refuse to control reproduction either. Na by force? Girls in particular need help, they are so exposed to abuse in this part of the world. Let NGOs and the government invest in skill acquisition opportunity more for the poor people, and particularly the women and girls because the burden of catering for the home and children seems to be more heavy on the women.

It's always gov't. For some.people.
I do not subscribe to the fact that its only government.
The problem is with the failing parental system like the writer pointed out.

Could it also be possible that the supposed amenities provided by the govt isn't enough.......that's if they provided anything at all?

These items (the basic amenities) when provided by the govt should be adequately monitored to ensure equitable distribution and avoid nepotism.

Parents on their parts should be encouraged if not tutored on how best to take care of their children especially those ones gotten out of wedlock.

The NGOs should focus on only those who need their help and stop diverting attentions to the well-to-do of the society to the detriment on these kids.

I quite agree with you. B

The child abuse on make child is not as worrisome as that meted on female. This owe to the fact that such abuses ranges from rape,STD,early child birth and worst of all psychological effect.QUOTE="Noskydudu, post: 278225, member: 14863"]I quite agree with you. B[/QUOTE]
