Satellite TV company, TStv is going through a very rough patch which could see the end of the firm touted to break the monopoly of Multichoice, owners of DStv, in Nigeria.

After a ceremonial launch on October 1st, TStv is yet to fully roll out it's services in Nigeria despite promising to do so come November 1st.

Apart from failing to fulfill promises like Nigerian politicians, the firm has been hit with a lot of inconsistencies as well as allegations of fraud. There are rumors that TStv doesn't have the rights to air the channels it's promising in Nigeria (especially BeiN sports) and although the firm denied these allegations, recent developments have raised them up again.

TStv had released its network to the public in a test transmission, making its stations accessible by Free to Air decoders.

On Thursday night, users of TStv services got an unusual message from the network while watching Arsenal's Europa league match.

The message says the content is being viewed illegally in Nigeria via TStv.

After this they were blocked from viewing the station.

This raised a massive red flag everywhere. TStv has had a lot of hiccups in the past and this new development will most likely shatter what's left of the belief Nigerians have in the firm.

However, TStv claims its network was hacked.

Is this a hack or is TStv a scam?

For a challenger of the status quo, there will be much more issues to contend with.

I still stand and believe in TSTV.

Very soon, we will flush out their exploiters :)

hmmm, not sure what to believe but could you actually stream bein sports without their license? even their 10 sec clips you cant view on twitter. TSTV too should wake up, their launch has been really disorganised compared to Kwese

Who is a Kwese? We don't know them much and it seems they don't have much publicity. But those chaps are smarter than TStv. They're more realistic too. However, their service isn't top notch.

One word for TStv- Sloppy and incompetent. I know I said one word but I just gotta add another two. Now that I think of it I'm going to add "unserious" to the two words up there.

Who are these chaps? They don't know how to disseminate information properly. They don't know how to manage expectations. They don't know how to carry everybody along. They don't know how to run a business.

If they're the real thing, I find it hard to believe. Everything about them suggests they're a scam- that's if they're not incompetent and incapable. Their launch was postponed at least once before the October 1st ceremonial ceremony; a visit to their office shows little to no readiness to make things happen; their means of disseminating information is really poor; and they keep procrastinating.

And no, I'm not a DStv agent and I'm not wishing to see them fail but one has to criticize what seems too good to be true and ask important questions. Competition is always good for consumers.
