The newly installed monarch of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, has said he has not installed any new leader for the Igbo community in Ibadan land as being speculated in some quarters.

Oba Adetunji made the clarification today at his Popoyemoja, Ibadan palace, adding that as a responsible monarch, he respects the rule of law and is bound by court ruling as a law-abiding Nigerian.

According to him, there was never a time he conferred the chieftaincy title of Eze Ndigbo or recognised anybody as the leader of Igbo in Ibadanland.

The Olubadan, therefore, urged all residents and citizens of Ibadan to remain law-abiding.

The Popoyemoja Descendants Union led by Alhaji Abass Asanpa has called on the people to cooperate with the monarch.
