It's another Friday! For some of us, it's time to go see movies with loved ones. Others may wish to hang out at relaxation spots – all for fun! But whenever you go to the cinema, it is best to be mindful of your public conduct. Here are some helpful tips you should go keep at heart when you go to the cinema.

1. Arrive Early
If you arrive late and you can tell that the cinema is near capacity, do not go up and down the stairs and aisles looking for seats. If you see two seats randomly empty and the movie has started, they are probably taken. When inside a packed cinema, you can save seats but only until the previews. After that, they are fair game. Again, punctuality is rather important when you are cinema. If your guests can’t make it on time, they will have to surrender their seats to those who could.

2. Don’t bump into people
When you get to the cinema, have your money ready so that you can pay quickly and don’t queue-jump. If you are bumped into, don’t be rude. Just be polite.

3. Buy your snacks before the film starts
Do this so you won’t disturb people by getting out of your seat all the time when the lights go down. Open your refreshments before the movie starts in order to limit noise. Out of respect for other movie-goers, remember to switch your mobile off or at least set it to silent ring or vibrate only.

4. Keep talk to a minimum
Laughter is a sign of appreciation for a comedy film – but constant arguing or overly enthusiastic laughter isn’t always appreciated. Keep your questions, excitement or opinions to yourself.

5. Do not visit the movies if you are sick

Stay away from the movies if you are sick. For instance, if you have a tickle in your throat or just a hacking dry cough, it’s rude to ruin the movie for everyone else.

6. Do not bring a child to R-rated movies
If a movie is rated R, please don’t have your four-year-old with you because you didn’t want to pay a babysitter. Do not tell yourself that your children will just sleep. They won’t. There is no exception to this rule. Also, do not bring your baby to the movies.

7. Be mindful of seating etiquette
Don’t sit directly in front of people (if there is no stadium seating) before the movie is at least 1/4 full. Do not sit next to someone unless the cinema is 50 per cent full. Don’t be creepy. There are exceptions to this rule such as if you are at the movie on time with a large party. Sometimes you have no choice but to sit in front of someone.

8. Do not text or take a screenshot
Taking a quick look at a text message is distracting to others around you, but responding to it is rude. The light is very bright to those around you, so go out to the lobby or hall to reply. And taking screenshots of the movie you are seeing is prohibited— this is a copyright violation.

9. Keep children under control
Nothing is worse than a parent who refuses to keep his or her children quiet — the rest of the audience does not appreciate paying good money only to have your little “darlings” ruin the experience. If you cannot afford a babysitter, consider renting movies and watching them at home.

10. Don’t move from your seat too often
Getting up once or twice is okay but always fidgeting around or changing seat mid-film can disturb people around you. Putting your feet up on the seat in front of you also isn’t appreciated much.

Don't start romancing during a movie. Because everywhere is dark does not mean you should start kissing ans smooching :D
