As the Independent National Electorial Commission (INEC) fixed July 8 for Osun-West Senatorial District bye-election to elect a new senator for the constituency after the sudden death of Sen. Isiaka Adeleke

Not less than 12 aspirants are currently jostling to replace the late senator at the red chamber.

The contenders to the vacant seat are:

1. the national ex-officio of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Akintola Omolaoye,

2. the State secretary of APC, Rasaq Salinsile,

3. Senator Isiaka Adeleke's junior brother, Ademola Adeleke,

4. Tiamiyu Bello

5. Mr. Tijani Adekilekun

6. Alhaji Sule Alao

7. Hon. Bamidele Salam,

8. Hon Rasheed Oyebanji Adeyemo,

9. Hon Ajibade Falade,

10. Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi,

11. Comrade Wale Alakinde

12. Retired Colonel Olayiwola Falabi among others.

After the primaries in the parties involved, who are contesting then from each party. I know all the APC or PDP members listed will not contest instead they will have party representatives.
