- Ambode was born in June 14, 1963.

- Ambode made the second best result in the entire West Africa in the Higher School Certificate Examinations in 1981.
- Ambode graduated from the University of Lagos at 21 with honors in Accounting.
- Ambode served at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sokoto State, during his NYSC year
- He has worked at the Lagos State Waste Disposal Board, now Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA
