Former Minister of Education and front-line campaigner for the Bring Back Our Girls, Madam Oby Ezekwesili has slammed the federal government over allocation of one billion dollars to fight Boko Haram.

This is coming a day after the national economic council gave the federal government go ahead to use $1bn from the excess crude account for the fight against insurgency in the north-east.

Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, made the disclosure on Thursday after the council’s meeting

But the former Minister queried why the money was allotted for same war the Chief of Army Staff had said it “is over and left to political class to mop up”.

She tweeted: “Wawu! $1Billion??.

“This money for the same war that the Chief of Army Staff recently said "is over and now left to the political class to mop up" or is it another? PLEASE READ OUR LATEST .

She said Nigerian people should read the statement of the group.
