According to the South-West Fadama Zonal Coordinator, Mr Rasaq Salau, the execution of the Fadama III programme in Nigeria from three to four years has been extended by the World Bank with the approval of 200 million dollars in June. However, implementation would begin in January 2014. Mr. Salau disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday.

The programme would involve the participation of all the states in the federation and it would focus majorly on the Federal Government’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda. The programme will cover value addition in areas such as production, branding and packaging of crops.

”Fadama will handle the money on behalf of the Federal Government for the project,” he said.
