Sports 2015 AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles to train in Warri ahead of Congo clash

General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu has revealed that plans have been concluded for the Super Eagles to train in Warri, Delta State, ahead of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in Point-noire.

The Super Eagles will next month travel to Brazzaville to play Congo, before returning to Nigeria to play the final match of the qualifiers against South Africa.

"The pitch in Warri where the Super Eagles will train is an artificial pitch and should provide the required feel and match conditions as the pitch where the game will be played in Congo," Amadu was quoted as saying on Goal.com.

"This is a very crucial game and we cannot afford to take anything for granted.

"After the game in Congo, the team will then proceed to Uyo to prepare for the last qualifier against South Africa.

"The Nigeria Football Federation is working round the clock to ensuring that all the team needs to make a success of the November assignments are provided so that the Super Eagles are able to defend their title in Morocco.

"For us, the real challenge is to go to Congo and get the desired result that will put our qualification aspirations back on the right track," Amadu added.

With four points, Nigeria are behind leaders South Africa (nine points) and Congo (seven points) but ahead of Sudan (three points) going into the final round of the qualifiers.
