Niger Delta Youth for Jonathan on Friday declared it's intention to purchase the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP nomination and expression of interest forms for President Goodluck Jonathan to re-contest his position in 2015.
Mr Benjamine Egbunike, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, announced this to newsmen at the party's secretariat in Abuja where they had gone to pick the form.
He said the group took the decision on behalf of Nigerian youths to appreciate the president's good works.
Egbunike added that they were supporting the president for a second term in office because of his pragmatic leadership style.
"We are purchasing the form to show him that we are solidly behind him and to encourage him not to be deterred or doubtful of the general popularity he has in this country. Nigerians in general are yearning for his continuity because we are sure that he is leading us somewhere.
"We believe that if we give him a second term chance to continue, his dream of transforming this country to a greater height will be surely achieved,’’ Egbunike said.
He, however, said that the group could not purchase the form because it was asked to inform the PDP leadership of its decision in writing before it could be considered.
Egbunike said that the group would return to the party’s headquarters on October 22 for the purchase of the form.
