The Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), an umbrella body for all Ogoni people, has demanded the governorship of Rivers State in 2015, just as the body insists that United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report for the area must be implemented.

The ethnic group made the demand on Sunday, in an address presented by its president, Legborsi Pyagbara, during the 21st anniversary celebration of Ogoni Day at Bori, the headquarters of Khana Local Government Area of the state.

Ogoni Day was first marked in 1993 and held annually by Ogonis, in line with their quest for justice, socio-economic and political emancipation.

Pyagbara said UNEP submitted its report on August 4, 2011 with far-reaching observations, but lamented that over two years after, the Federal Government, under President Goodluck Jonathan, had failed to implement the report.
