Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has asked those jostling for governorship position in the state to exercise patience, noting that the whistle is yet be blown to commence campaigns for elective positions.

Governor made the assertion at the weekend during the burial of a foremost politician and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Shugaba Dam Ayali, who was buried in his country home of Shitile in Katsina-Ala Local Government of Benue State, at the weekend.

“I want to sound this note of warning that whoever is willing to offer himself for contest of any elective office come 2015 should either resign or give one year notice…or else what they are doing now could be tantamount to distraction,” he said, stressing that government functionaries owe the state a responsibility to be focused. He however assured that when the time is ripe, “everybody will know; it will not be a hidden secret.”

On those clamouring that he should join the race to the Benue North-East senatorial seat, Suswam said he would give his response at the appropriate time.
