Abuja police has one Aliyu Mohammed, 25, in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court Abuja for alleged criminal conspiracy and theft.
The prosecutor, Cpl Monday Akor alleged that Mohammed conspired with one Hamisu Haruna to snatch a cell phone valued at N18, 000 from the complainant, Gabriel.
Akor said that arround 1.30 a.m on the day, Gabriel was on his way back after dropping a passenger when Mohammed in conspiracy with one Hamisu Haruna, now in custody claimed that Gabriel brushed Haruna with his car.
He said that in the process, Haruna snatched Gabriel's cell phone valued at N18,000 and gave it to Mohammed who ran away with it.
The prosecutor said the accused person’s action contravened the provisions of section 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mr Shuiabu Adamu, admitted him to a bail in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum who must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court and must be a public servant on no less than GL 6.
He adjourned the case to Jan. 15.
