Two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Magaji Gusau, Al-Mustapha Wurno and the party have filed a legal suit against 27 members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly for alleged constitutional breach, following their defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The suit which was filed before the Federal High Court in Sokoto seeks to declare the defectors seats vacant, it also seeks the approval of the Court for the National Assembly to take over the running of the affairs of the state Assembly until law and order is restored in the lawmaking chamber.
Among those joined to the suit as c0-defendants are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Inspector-General of Police and the National Assembly.
