The Nigerian government according to Bloomberg, has suspended discussions with MTN over the US$3.9billion fine imposed on it's Nigerian subsidiary by the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC.

Nigerian lawmakers in the House of Representatives had instituted a probe and further discussions with MTN are on hold until its outcome is made known, Bloomberg says.

According to telecoms ministry spokesman, Victor Oluwadamilare, until the lawmakers “are through with their investigation, nothing can be done.”

MTN Group is scheduled to hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday where details about its operations worldwide will be shared.
