Metro 3 Men Arraigned For Flogging Octogenarian in Ibadan

Ibadan police on Friday, arraigned3 men: Muritala Omidotun, Ridwan Adedapo, and Ismail Oluwanisola on a four-count charge of conspiracy, assault and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. James Oriola, said that the accused conspired with others still at large to flog Mr Isiaka Bello, an octogenarian on the right eye causing injury to the said eye.

The accused also stole a Nokia phone worth N7,000 from Bello.

He added that the trio also used a cane to inflict injuries on the back of a Mr Kazeem Isiaka, a cutlass to injure a Mr Teslim Oloola on his left hand and a Mr Wasiu Ariyo’s right hand.

The prosecutor told the court that the incidents occurred on Dec. 3, at 11.00a.m. at Arapaja, Ibadan.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Risikat Ebeloku-Mustapha, granted each of them bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan. 2014.
