Security agents in Northeast Nigeria have disclosed that about 44 people were killed in a mosque on Sunday.
Although this occurred on Sunday, the bodies were not counted until Monday. The attack is reported to have occurred about 35km away from Maiduguri, Borno State's capital.
Usman Musa, representative of the civilian vigilante group, reports that the civilian activists encountered heavy gunfire from the armed millitants/terrorists. Four of the civilian activists were killed on the road leading from Maiduguri to Konduga as they were responding to calls for help.
