Africa is said to be the birth place of mankind. By 100,000 BC modern humans lived by hunting and gathering with stone tools. From Africa they spread to Europe. By 5,000 BC farming had spread to North Africa. People herded cattle and they grew crops. At that time the Sahara was not a desert. It was green and fertile and gradually it grew drier and became a desert.

In the past till present times, most people outside Africa had, and still have the belief that Africa 'the Dark Continent' (as often referred) is all about deserts, slave trade, safaris, and Savannas, but the fact is, it has several cities that are urbanized as well as laden with character and beauty which makes them very attractive. Here are a few notable beautiful cities in Africa;

It is characterized by wide streets and green parks and has a good number of museums and art galleries that will attract visitors. A few other attractions in Abidjan are the St. Paul's Cathedral, the Banco National Park, and the Amani Gallery. Getting there is most easy because Abidjan and Nigeria are both in the western part of Africa. It takes just a direct international flight of approximately 1 hour 32 minutes from Nigeria to Abidjan. People go by road too to Abidjan. Some of the luxurious bus companies in Nigeria convey people to Abidjan for business and touring purposes.
