623 CANDIDATES QUALIFY FOR SCREENING IN 2ND EDITION PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Presidential Special Scholarship Scheme for Innovation and Development (PRESSID) has reported that a total of 623 candidates met the criteria for selection for the second edition.

The Chairman of the scheme who also happens to be the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, said this. He also reported that the second edition ushered in the 2014/2015 academic edition.

He reported that candidates who have been shortlisted would to sit for the screening examination on December 10 at Chams Plc, Abuja.

He said, ''Federal Government of Nigeria has plans to develop a critical mass of professionals, who will serve as catalysts of change and agents of scientific and technological advancement as well as sustainable economic development. But this can only be achieved through the sponsorship of outstanding students for postgraduate studies in the top 25 universities in the world."


This scheme catered to graduates of first class degrees from recognised educational institutions in Nigeria.
