A special team set up to investigate the strange events surrounding the alleged involvement of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President Ayo Oritsejafor and Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo in the $9.3 million illegal arms deal in South Africa has absolved both men of complicity.

Last month, a private jet belonging to Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor carrying some people and the cash to South Africa to buy arms from the black market to facilitate Nigeria's fight against terrorist was detained by South African authorities while the money was confiscated.

As weeks followed, Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo was also implicated in the matter and accused of being the one who flew in the plane.

Authoritative sources, however, have now stated that neither men had anything to do with the deal.

As DailyPost reports:
“A Special Team, comprising security agents, intelligence experts and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has investigated the $9.3m cash-for- arms deal and submitted its report to the Presidency.

“The committee confirmed that the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor had no connection with the transaction.

“It was true that the CAN President’s jet was used but we found out that it was without his knowledge. As at the time in question, the aircraft was on lease. And you may be aware that the lease trend is peculiar to private jet owners in the country.

“It is the view of the committee that Oritsejafor cannot be held liable for any shuttle made by a lease firm.

“As for the manifest of the plane, the committee also discovered that the Niger Delta activist, Mujaheedin Asari Dokubo was not among those on board the transaction aircraft. There was no mention of Dokubo in the manifest presented during the investigation.”

Another quick reminder that rules are made to be broken. And so it had to be the jet of a man of God. Was that because the plane was annointed?

There's so much confusion and uncertainty surrounding the deal. It could be an arms deal for Boko Haram or for the Government. One thing is clear, someone wants to bring in more guns into Nigeria. But if the gun is for the government, why is it shody? and why did it look like it did? Stinks to the heavens, I say.

And with the implication of the president of CAN and Asari DOkubo? CHineke!

Isn't there an official modus operandi for the procurement of weapons? Why was this case different?

A billion question dollar there..and is this the first time the gov'll procure arms outside of Nigeria?

If one digs this up, one'll come across damning revelations.

Maybe @curator has a Pelican Brief on this ;)
