Abuja Stadium now ready for use

Work has been concluded on the pitch of the Abuja national stadium,with the National Sports Commission(NSC) set to get delivery of the stadium on Tuesday.
The Abuja Stadium was shut down for some renovation work,after the pitch was overtaken by weeds and reptiles,which forced the various national teams to play their home games at the UJ Esuene stadium,Calabar.
But months after giving the stadium a face-lift,it will now be reopened for use again,with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets going to sample it with a game against Amakson Football Academy.
“We needed to make this a huge ceremony to announce to the world that the Abuja National stadium is now ready for any world-class game,” said Julius Ogunro, special assistant (media) to the sports minister,Bolaji Abdullahi.
But Julius refused to state if the Super Eagles will play their home game of the 2014 World Cup qualifier at the Abuja Stadium:”I cannot confirm anything now, but nothing is cast on stone. The point here is that Abuja is ready for the Eagles,” he added.
