Sports Abuja stadium won't be concessioned - Sports ministry

With plans to put the National stadia across Nigeria on a concession, the National Sports Commission(NSC) have singled out the Abuja Stadium as the only one that won't be affected by the move.

Last week,it was revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan approved of the concession to private investors.

"We do not seem to have any problem with the Abuja national stadium, the pitch has just been re-grassed, the environment is clean and we have been having sporting activities there” Julius Ogunro, special assistant on media to the sports minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi told Brila FM.

“I do not think we have any difficulty running the stadium and so it should not be one of the stadia to be concessioned because we have it under our control and we are doing well”

The National Stadium in Surulere,Lagos is expected to be the first to be concessioned.
