Access‎ Bank Plc has been awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certificate for Societal Security and Business Continuity Management Systems.

The bank made this known in Lagos in a statement signed by its Head of Media Relations, Mr Abul Imoyo.

According to the statement, the award was given by the British Standard Institute ( BSI) after about three months of rigorous business impact analysis across the bank’s departments.

It said, "The certification is based on international best practices deployed by the bank to manage business continuity.

"The ISO 22301:2012 specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to prepare for, respond to and recover from disruptive events when they arise.

"The ISO 22301 certification will help to improve the bank's business by ensuring planned and effective business continuity management at all levels.’’

The statement also commended the bank’s employees for concerted efforts in achieving the feat.

It added that the management of the bank was committed to business continuity.

The statement quoted Mrs Ojinika Olaghere, the bank’s Executive Director (Operations and Information Technology) as saying, "Access Bank has assured its stakeholders that it will sustain the certification’’.
