Monday Obinnah, narrowed escaped with his life when he survived an acid attack allegedly inflicted by s professional colleague and some hoodlums.
He is an employee with an advertising firm based in Lagos State. While in Makurdi on a work assignment, he discovered that one of the company’s billboards had been used to illegally advertise a product without the authorisation of the advertising company Obinnah worked for.
After inquiries as to the owner of the advertisement went nowhere, he had no choice but to take it down himself. While doing that, one Chidiebere Okugbo, claiming to be a sale agent of the same advertising firm, mobilised hoodlums to assist in attacking Obinnah with sticks, stones and chemicals. They had also cut down a nearby electric line in an attempt to electrocute him while he was still on the ladder.
When Okugbo was later questioned by the police, he denied ever being present at the attack.
