Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has stated that the entire internal revenue generated by the state is committed to the provision of social amenities that would add value to the generality of the citizens of the state.

Al-Makura, who stated this in Lafia said that the state government took the step in view of the current economic hardship and revenue allocation shortfall from federation account which limits accruals to the state to the payment of salaries.

He said committing the entire revenue accurable to the state in IGR and federal allocation to the payment of workers’ salaries alone, is not only unfair to the citizens of the state but an act of immorality.

While explaining that the state only has about 30, 000 workers, including casual staff, as against a population of about 3million, the governor said government must be pragmatic enough to carry everyone along.
