Politics Amosun Suspends local government legislative arm

The governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, on Thursday announced the suspension of the Legislative Arm of the Imeko-Afon Local Government Council with immediate effect.

The order was handed down barely 24 hours after the suspension placed on the Council Chairman, Tajudeen Ayilara, by the legislators of the local government.

According to Premium Times, the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, who issued a statement on the sack of all the councillors, said it was in pursuant to the provisions of Section 39(iii) of the Local Government Law of Ogun State.

The suspended lawmakers as Abdul Waliu (House Leader), Alalade Kayode(Deputy Leader), Omoyayi Peter – (Majority Leader), Lawal Jafaru(Chief Whip) Mulero Yusuf, Taiwo Afisu, Falola Olugbenro, Odeyale Niyi, Suraju Yusuf, and Olawore Emmanuel.
