The crisis embattling the All Progressives Grand Alliance took a further twist on Friday when Chief Shedrack Anaekwe, the Chairman of the Maxi Okwu-led faction of the party in Anambra State was expelled by the faction in the party, led by Chief Victor Umeh-led, in Awka North LGA.

The committee report, was signed by Chief Chukwuma Okoye, a former education commissioner in Anambra and was announced by the leader of the party in the council, Chief Godson Ezenagu.

It said the action was based on their involvement in six “verifiable, indictable offences” as contained in Article 21 of APGA constitution.

Anaekwe however dismissed his alleged expulsion, saying those who did it had no power to do so.

Three other members from Anaekwe's faction were also expelled: Mr Emma Ajeke, Dr Godson Amebo and Mr John Nwokoye, while Mr Ralph Enweluzo and Mr Nicholas Ibe were each suspended for six months.

Mr. Casmir Ilonwa, the chairman of the council chapter of the party was also removed from office.
