Ositadinma Benjamin Chidoka, the candidate of the United Progressive Party, UPP, has boasted that he would win the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.

Chief Chidoka will be battling the race with Mr Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (APC); incumbent governor, Mr Willie Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Mr Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Godwin Ezeemo of the Progressives People’s Alliance (PPA) among others

Here are ten things you should know about one of the leading contender in the Anambra guber race scheduled to hold November 18, 2017:


1. Born on 18 July 1971

2. Chidoka obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He thereafter proceeded to the School of Public Policy at George Masson University in the United States of America where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Transport Policy and Logistics. He also holds a certificate in Global Strategy and Political Economy from Oxford University, UK and a Graduate Diploma in Maritime & Ports Management from the National University of Singapore.

3. He did his National Youth Service (NYSC) at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) where he became an Award Winner and subsequently secured automatic employment into the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja.

4. In 2007, he was appointment as the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps

5. In 20154, he was also appointed Minister of Aviation, during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan


6. The former minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka defiled all odds to drive the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu out of Kuje Prison after perfecting his bail condition.

Kanu had described him as a consensus Igbo man and exhibited such attributes on April 28, 2017 when he was released from Kuje Prison.


7. In recognition of Osita Chidoka’s enormous contributions to national and community development, he was vested with the traditional title of Ike-Obosi (Strength of Obosi) and a member of Ndi-Ichie, the highest decision making body of Obosi Traditional Council of Anambra State in May, 2009.


8. In August, 2014, Chief Osita Chidoka was conferred with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in recognition for his productivity and commitment towards nation building.

9. His vision is to build the first truly world-class state in Nigeria and to trigger the processes that would deliver double-digit growth in the GDP of Anambra State and transform it into a middle-income economy by the year 2022

10. Osita Chidoka is happily married and blessed with children.

He has a good profile and appears smart but he wont win, Besides, we have a lot talkers no action in this govt already ;)
I heard/read he did well in his debate but the anambra voters did not watch the debate or do not care about debate. Maybe if their local radio station aired it in igbo then there would have been a 5% chance for him.
