THE arrest in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Thursday of some people described by the police as political thugs from Osun State is generating diverse reactions in the polity as major players in the Anambra State governorship election are exchanging brickbats, allegations and counter-accusations.
180 youths suspected to belong to the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Osun State were arrested by the police with voter cards and dangerous weapons, apparently on their way to Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State. But the APC in Osun State, on Friday, in Osogbo denied the report from the Anambra State police command that the youths were members of the party.
