Ahead of Saturday's supplementary election in Anambra state, Nigeria , the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Mr. Osita Ezenwa, Director-General of the Tony Nwoye Campaign Organisation. Kenneth Arinze, a member of the campaign organisation has also been suspended by the party.
According to PUNCH, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, Anambra state chairman of the PDP on Wednesday told the press that the two were suspended for anti-party activities and a breach of the constitution of the party.
Emeakayi accused Ezenwa and Arinze of disrespecting the leader of the party in the state, Chief Olisa Metuh, who is also the National Publicity Secretary of the party. The Tony Nwoye Campaign Organisation had said Metuh was speaking for himself when he called on PDP members to participate in the supplementary election.
In reaction to his suspension, Ezenwa said he would not waste his time in responding to it. He said, "He (Emeakayi) had long been expelled from public life, not just from partisan politics".
Nwoye, PDP's candidate for the Anambra governorship elections is among those insisting on fresh elections in Anambra instead of a supplementary election.
